Abstract
This research protocol outlines a study which aims to explore the lived experiences of neurodivergent and neurotypical coachees, using the Triple-E Method (T-EM) of coaching with bricks. The objective is to deepen understanding of how different participants experience the framework to better enable coaches to effectively apply this method. By addressing the current lack of academic research in this area, it supports the development of evidenced-informed, strength based coaching practices. A qualitative research methodology using an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis idiographic approach, has been selected to provide an opportunity for participants to share their unique lived experience of the coaching. Participants will take part in a coaching with bricks session followed by a semi-structured interview. Sessions are expected to last between 1-3 hours and will be recorded and transcribed verbatim to give context to the research. Both the interviews and coaching session will be online to reflect current trends towards digitalisation in coaching practices. An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) research approach that makes sense of individual’s lived experiences will be used to gather rich, in-depth data of the participants experience of the T-EM coaching session, for interpretation to identify emerging themes.
