We are pleased to introduce the fifth volume of the International Journal of Coaching Psychology (IJCP). The previous volume of IJCP shared articles on titles including Improving the efficacy of coaching: Outlining reflexive hindering (Lyall & Fillery-Travis, 2023), Preliminary Validation of Adaptations for Coaching Research of Three Scales in Employed and Student Samples (Murphy, O’Donovan & O’Leary, 2023), The Conservatoire Coach’s Casebook Notes: a thematic analysis (Hensel, Palmer & Wise, 2024) and Critical Realist Coaching: An Epistemological Lens into Client Profiling (Dixon, 2023).

On 6th October 2023, International Coaching Psychology Day was launched to celebrate and highlight developments in the field and provide an opportunity to bring together the international coaching psychology community (further details are available at: https://icpd.isfcp.info).  To date the IJCP has been pleased to contribute to this ongoing development of the profession through its focus and scope of work. In support of this objective, IJCP invites ongoing submissions covering any aspect of the theory, research and practice of coaching psychology. This can include original research and discussion papers, review articles, brief reports, position and/or opinion papers. Shorter submissions on techniques, interventions and strategies are also welcome.  Submissions on book reviews and conference reports are also invited through prior discussion with the editorial team.

The IJCP has the following professional body and corporate sponsors, and we would like to acknowledge them for our ongoing partnership (https://ijcp.nationalwellbeingservice.com/our-sponsors/):

  • International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP) as the lead Professional Body Sponsor of the journal.
  • Hungarian Association for Coaching Psychology (HACP).
  • Coaching Psychology Section, Col·legi Oficial de Psicologia de Catalunya (COPC).
  • Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA).
  • SIOPSA Interest Group in Coaching & Consulting Psychology, South Africa (IGCCP SA).

The publication of IJCP is also dependent on each of the contributors including authors, referees, the busy editorial team including Consulting Editors, and the eminent International Editorial Board. We would like to thank them all as we begin work on this fifth volume of IJCP.

APA PsycInfo abstracting and indexing database is published by the American Psychological Association and covers journals published world-wide. Each journal, before it is accepted for inclusion, goes through a rigorous evaluation. In addition to a thorough review of the content, the evaluation committee requires a publication to answer questions about its peer-review process, business practices, and other publishing details. We are pleased to announce that the International Journal of Coaching Psychology has been accepted for abstracting in PsycInfo.
